David Humphris - SA,Vic Rep  With 20 years of farming experience in the mid north of South Australia David had helped his own family adapt to no-till farming methods in the mid 1990’s before becoming a fulltime rep for Agmaster. Up to this time most no-till was being experimented in WA and David spent considerable time learning from the WA experience.

The success of the WANTFA organisation in sharing research and farmer experiences in the adoption of practical and profitable new farming systems impressed me so much that I, along with a few other interested farmers, worked to start a similar organisation in S.A. SANTFA has enjoyed a rapid growth since its beginnings in 1997  and now boasts over 1000 members.

David expanded his representative work into Victoria and NSW in 2000 as these regions adopted no-till practices.

David has enjoyed meeting and helping farmers get their machinery setup to suit their conditions to get the crop in on time.

David has gotten great satisfaction from bringing Agmaster’s promoter Steve King from Lake Grace W.A. who has represented Agmaster in W.A. for many years to the eastern states to promote his approach to establishing crops while improving soil structure.  Steve retired from Agmaster last year to concentrate on his farming at Lake Grace with his family.

With the increased adoption of No-till across Australia David has found that more resources were needed to effectively service NSW and Queensland so recently Agmaster have appointed Rowan Cox from Coolah as the rep for NSW and Queensland.  David will now have more time to expand the Agmaster products into more areas of S.A. and Victoria where No-till has not been fully taken up as yet.

Rowan has been travelling widely to meet clients and dealers and helping them with their enquires about broad range of products available to convert most cultivating machines into very effective no-till seeding machines.  Rowan from his base in central NSW can easily service Agmaster’s expanding dealer network.  Rowan is enjoying the challenge of learning about these products and how they can be fitted to nearly all seeders and cultivators.  Rowan has just completed seminars in central NSW with Ray Harrington - inventor of Agmaster’s knife point and closer plate seeding system.  Also at these seminars was Danny Conlan farmer and Agronomist from Sealake in Victoria’s Mallee area.  Agmaster continues to promote the No-till system of seeding through seminars with our extensive dealer network.

Ray Harrington along with his brother David developed the knife point and closer plate system to suit their harsh soils at Darken W.A. in the early 1980’s.  Their progressive attitude has been used to develop and test all Agmaster products on their farms.  Ray continues to travel widely

for Agmaster to promote products at Field Days and dealer seminars,  Ray is available to help any farmers with any problems they have with their cropping programs.  Ray is now working on his seed destructor system which destroy’s over 99% of the weed seeds coming off the sieves of the harvester.  Ray’s continuing ability to think outside the square and challenge conventional thinking to solve problems in his farming system is inspirational to all that he meets.
